Today’s happy story

25 Nov

Great recovery: She now competes on a standard bicycle and was this week given one of just 11 places on a top women's professional cycling team

Monique van der Vorst, 27, was paralysed from the waist down 13 years ago. Amazingly having fallen off her bike, she started to regain feeling in her legs and has now regained full movement in them. She won silver at the Paralympics games, but has now swopped the hand cycle for a regular bike, and is planning to compete in the 2012 Olympics.

Happy story of the day 🙂 Meow
